Higher Da'wah & Irshad Department

From Islam's earliest days, people of misguided paths have, at various times and in various ways, sought to harm Islam and turn people away from it — but in every age, Allah has raised up scholars, the inheritors of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), to expose them for what they are. These scholars have torn apart the schemes of such deviant circles and presented the true, sound religion before the Ummah.

With the aim of producing just such a body of scholars and callers to Allah (du'at ila Allah), the "Higher Da'wah & Irshad Department" was launched at Jamia Islamia Obaidia Nanupur in 1441 Hijri, corresponding to 2020 CE. Students of this department, remaining firm in the way of the pious predecessors, will be equipped to answer every form of propaganda from deviant groups.

Some activities and features of this department:

1. Reporting to the department's research room punctually each day for structured study (mutala'ah).

2. Building student competence in every required subject through semester-based study and teaching.

3. Dedicated instruction on creed ('Aqidah), to firmly establish the core beliefs of Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah.

4. Instruction, study, and weekly examination on key texts refuting various false doctrines and ideologies (such as Qadiyanism, Shia doctrine, Barelvism, Ahl-e-Hadith, Mawdudism, and newly emerging false doctrines).

5. Rigorous research into other foreign religions and comparative religious knowledge (such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, and Christianity).

6. Important lectures (muhazarah) on contemporary issues and false doctrines, to build real expertise.

7. Instruction in the rules of orthography (Qawa'id al-Imla) and punctuation marks.

8. Instruction in introductory texts, to build general knowledge of the Hadith sciences.

9. Study of key texts on the principles of Da'wah, the Prophetic biography (Sirah), and character (Akhlaq).

10. Subject-based introduction to Da'wah and Irshad literature, with a weekly examination.

11. Each semester, studying three juz' from a reliable Tafsir and memorising, with reflection (tadabbur), verses relevant to Da'wah.

12. Memorising 50 hadiths on a set subject, with narrators' names and sources.

13. Writing a research essay on a chosen subject at year's end.

14. Research-based educational seminars on various contemporary issues.

15. Daily reporting of student activities.
